The Pilot G2 is the pen that made me stop caring about pens. It writes smooth, doesn't skip, doesn't bleed through normal printer paper, and the 0.7mm tip is the sweet spot between precision and good ink flow.
Buy the 12-pack of black in 0.7mm. Keep one in your laptop bag, one in your desk, one in each car, one by the phone, one in the kitchen junk drawer. They're cheap enough to scatter and good enough that you'll reach for them over any 'nicer' pen.
The refills are sold separately, so when the ink runs out, you can just swap the cartridge and keep the barrel. Nobody actually does this, but you could, and that's nice.
