I'm going to say the quiet part loud: a good office chair is the single best investment you can make in your workday. If you spend 8+ hours at a desk, the difference between a $150 Amazon chair and a real chair is measured in doctor's visits.
The Sayl is Herman Miller's 'entry-level' ergonomic chair, which is funny because it still costs $700. But it has a 12-year warranty, genuinely supportive lumbar, proper tilt and seat-depth adjustment, and it lasts forever. Mine looks identical to the day I bought it.
If $700 is too steep, buy a used one — Herman Miller chairs are so durable that the used market is full of 8-year-old models that have another decade in them. eBay and Craigslist. You're welcome.
