Inkjet printers are a scam. The ink dries out. The cartridges are more expensive than the printer. You'll print two pages a month, then discover you need the printer urgently and the head is clogged. Every time.
Brother monochrome laser printers are the antidote. The HL-L2405W does one thing: prints black-and-white pages on regular paper, at 32ppm, over WiFi, from any device. The starter toner lasts 700 pages. Replacement toner is $40–$60 for 3,000 pages. You will print from this machine ten years from now without issue.
If you need color, get an inkjet for photos and keep this for everything else — boarding passes, shipping labels, forms, tax docs. Trying to make one printer do both has been a losing battle for 20 years.
